hello, i’m jill.
I am a Texas-based lifestyle, senior, and wedding portrait photographer. I have loved the camera and beautiful images since my childhood, having had a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember! As a young girl, I made a pinhole camera once out of cardboard and foil, using film to create and process images. I truly desire to create for you images you otherwise would be unable to create for yourself!
Your story is one of never ending growth, change, and
moving forward. I am inspired by
your story . . . life events, all the parts and pieces,
exposure, balance, color, texture, composition, details.
I love the challenge of working my camera and lighting to visually create images that have never been created, telling your story in a way that has never been told. I believe in preserving these pieces for you, to treasure and hold today and forever.
The relationship I build with my clients is a huge part of what I love so much about my business! I remain friends with many of my clients long after we’ve finished our initial session together and enjoy continuing to document their lives. I want to be here for you in every possible way.
In a rapidly changing world of visual media, the time-honored language of photography will always ring true to my heart! With over 18 years behind the camera, this language is what fuels my energy and creativity to capture your moments . . . your life.
A few random facts about me:
Once upon a time, I had my picture taken with a real human Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup when I ran as part of a relay team at a national track meet in Hershey, Pennsylvania! I will never forget, it had on brown gloves and held my hand for our photo!
I start at the back of my new Southern Living magazines and read toward the front, so I can get to the recipes faster! I love being in the kitchen and trying new recipes.
I taught school a few years before staying home to start my own family. Married to the love of my life for 27 years, we have two grown sons who are our greatest treasures. Our happy place is outdoors around a warm and cozy fire, having a bowl of homemade Texas chili with all the fixin’s, enjoying family and friends, sharing life and the good stuff until deep in the night!
We have a Mini Aussie, a Corgi, a bright green Indian Ringneck Parakeet who can shake hands and turn around on command, and a donkey who eats poison ivy and has a fabulous honk!
I have been bitten by a copperhead and survived!
( Yes, it was awful and I thought I was going to die! )
Dark chocolate. Coffee. Farm fresh eggs, homemade biscuits, and honey! Hiking the backcountry, always with my camera. The first cool snap of the season. The smell in my house from the Fraser Fir at Christmas. Colors of the ocean and sea creatures. Valentine cookies. Serving my family. Sharing with neighbors. Mountain air. A crackling fire. My favorite hoodie. Bedtime snacks. Trust. A happy outlook. An Awesome Savior. Eternal assurance.
life doesn’t have to be perfect to be wonderful!
